ECDC situation report on influenza A(H1N1)v

Out of the 31 EU and EFTA countries, 30 countries have reported a total of 27 892 confirmed cases of influenza A(H1N1)v infection, including 40 deaths. In the past 24 hours, 515 new cases were reported from the EU and EFTA countries. Netherlands reported the first fatal case.

First ECDC/EPIET informal seminar on influenza pandemic investigations

Since the start of the 2009 A(H1N1) pandemic, fellows of the European Programme for Intervention Epidemiology Training (EPIET) have been playing a pivotal role in field investigation of outbreaks and the setting up of enhanced surveillance systems. In order to bring together the EPIET fellows to share their preliminary results, ECDC organised a half day seminar on 28 July.
